BIENAL DE FLAMENCO DE SEVILLA:
Seville, Spain - September 3-30, 2012
The seventeenth edition of the macrofestival in Seville relates the different trends in flamenco, from tradition to the avant-garde, as well as flamenco with other genres of music, dance and plastic arts. The Bienal, which offers 70 baile, cante, toque and music shows, will be held from September 3rd to 30th at the Teatro Maestranza, the Teatro Lope de Vega, the Teatro Central, the Alcázar, the Teatro Central and, as a novelty, the Espacio Santa Clara, Fibes Auditorium and the Andalusian Contemporary Art Center.

Last season’s critically acclaimed smash hit returns for a one-week limited engagement!
Cotton Club Parade is a celebration of Duke Ellington's years at the famed Harlem nightclub in the 1920s and '30s, when the joint was jumping with revues featuring big band swing and blues, dancers, singers, and novelty acts. Packed with hits from some of the greatest jazz composers of the time—including Harold Arlen, Jimmy McHugh and Dorothy Fields, and Ellington himself—this production re-imagines a Cotton Club floor show right here on the City Center stage.

PIANO IN BRYANT PARK: Every Weekday from 12:30-2:30 PM, Thru October 12, 2012
Some of the best pianists from all over New York come to Bryant Park to play on the Piano in Bryant Park. Tap your toes to the music of Scott Joplin, the Gershwins, James P. Johnson, Fats Waller, Eubie Blake, Jelly Roll Morton, and more every weekday. The custom-made piano and series has been created by Bryant Park in partnership with Local 802 of the American Federation of Musicians and Sam Ash Music Stores.

UNDERTOE DANCE PROJECT AUDITIONS - FRIDAY, SEPT 7
Undertoe Dance Project is seeking female tap as well as female jazz dancers to join as Company Members or Apprentice Members.
You are not required to be both a tap dancer and a jazz dancer to be part of the company. If you are, that is fantastic! Please stay for the full audition. Otherwise, please come to the style for which you’d like to be considered.

11:30 AM: Female Rhythm Tap Dancers
1:00 PM: Female Jazz Dancers

Location: AFA Dance, 38-01 23rd Avenue, #100 - Astoria, NY 11105. Nearest Train is the N/Q to Ditmars Blvd. and the nearest bus is the M60

Dancers must be at least 18, college graduates preferred.

Callbacks: Friday, September 28, 2012 from 10 am – 3 pm in Astoria. Rehearsals begin the following week. There is currently no pay for rehearsals but there may be performance stipends available, depending on the venue. Dancers must be available for regular rehearsal times which are Fridays from 10 am – 3 pm in Astoria.

SCRAPARTSMUSIC makes Chicago debut at CHICAGO HUMAN RHYTHM PROJECT'S GLOBAL RHYTHMS
November 24 and 25 at Harris Theater

The  Chicago Human Rhythm Project (CHRP), the nation's premier presenter of American tap dance and contemporary percussive arts, presents the Chicago debut of ScrapArtsMusic for Global Rhythms 8, CHRP's annual community-building, shared-revenue performances that spotlight national and international percussive arts companies. Performances are November 24 at 8 p.m. and November 25 at 3 p.m. at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park.

  ScrapArtsMusic delivers an intoxicating mix of intricate rhythms, raw energy, athletic choreography and a highly inventive percussive arts concert.
