Don't forget about our partner the Song Room (www.songroom.org.au) – any tap shoes you have outgrown and no longer wearing please bring with you to donate them to the program we are setting up to take tap dancing to children from low socio-economic communities and educate these kids in the artform we so love.

Experience art that defies musical and theatrical classification. With blends of urban and traditional music styles, Constructing a Masterpiece channels the exuberance and diversity of New York City's multicultural landscape. "A young Duke Ellington of our times, William B. Johnson composes/arranges with an unrivaled command of musical experimentation and alternative instrumentation. The way Ellington used the piano, Johnson allows his virtuosity as a percussionist to lead his ensemble in a performance of un-categorical compositions." Johnson successfully combines horns, strings, side bass drums and traditional African instruments with the buckets in a cohesive ensemble that appeals to listeners from Blue Grass to World Beat.

Originally from the Midwest, Maiysha, is a Brooklyn-based artist, whose unique collaborations with producer/co-writer/Eusonia founder, Scott Jacoby, have gained significant attention. Maiysha is a confident performer, who has done theater and vocal performance since childhood and already established a successful career in modeling. Her style of progressive soul was heavily influenced by late 70's and early 80's pop and R&B. Maiysha uses her background in creative writing to make meaningful, thought-provoking lyrics for her music. She skillfully examines the dualities of striving and setbacks, strength and vulnerability, & sensuality and spirituality. Maiysha's seductive voice, technical skill, and emotional authenticity have made for an exciting and welcome arrival on the contemporary soul music scene.

Free Dance & Vocal Lessons Offered
Do you know a child K-12 that would like to take some dance or voice
lessons? Through Upstate Dance & Arts Center, free lessons will be
offered into the month of December. These classes will aim toward a
holiday performance in December.

All classes will be held on the weekends throughout the months of
October & November. All levels of experience are welcome; from
absolute beginners to advanced students. If the student also takes
classes from another organization, we are okay with that. This is
purely an extra activity for anyone interested.

As mentioned above, all classes are free of charge. The performance
will be funded by donation & sponsors and will be free of charge to
the public and all proceeds will go to local charities.

If you know of any child that would like to participate, we would love
to have them. Also, if you know of anyone that would like to
volunteer, donate, or sponsor, we would love the help. Please contact
us as soon as possible.

We will hold our General Interest Meeting on Sunday, October 5th at
6:30pm at our studio location in Endwell. If there are any
organizations (churches, etc) that have a number of children
intersted, our instructors can travel to additional, more convenient
locations for most rehearsals.

Rehearsals will begin the following week (Saturday & Sunday) October 11 to 12.

If you cannot attend the General Interest Meeting, please contact us
by phone or email as soon as possible to let us know of your interest!

Barbatuques and Thanks-4-Giving
As a part of Global Rhythms, CHRP partners with over 50 non-profits
from throughout Chicago. Groups like the Brazilian Cultural Center,
the Chicago Food Depository, Book Worm Angels and the International
Latino Cultural Center of Chicago will send their patrons to the show
and receive 50% of every ticket that their supporters purchase! It's
another way Chicago Human Rhythm Project builds community with rhythm.

We encourage you to tell your favorite non-profit organization about
this program. With a national decrease in charitable giving in 2008,
this program is a simple way for any non-profit to raise money! They
simply need to call 773-281-1825 and ask for the Community Development
