CHICAGO HUMAN RHYTHM PROJECT: RHYTHM WORLD 2011 - July 25 - August 7
RHYTHM WORLD is the oldest and most comprehensive festival of American tap and contemporary percussive arts in the world. RHYTHM WORLD features an extraordinary master faculty of 24 teachers and two weeks of performance, education and community outreach programs including free public performances, tap jams, student showcases, panel discussions and extraordinary faculty concerts at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago.

Sat, July 9, July's Second Saturday Afternoon Party, from 2 to 6 p.m., our Film Host, Delilah Jackson, shows films on Billy Eckstine, Aretha Franklin and other exciting personalities, followed by a Birthday Cake and special presents for CANCER birthday people (only if your name is on the cake, so call in your name and birthdate by Friday, July 8), free raffle drawing, light refreshments, and singers and tap dancers hosted by our Music Director, Frank Owens. - $5

Sat, July 16, from 8 p.m., Luiz Simas' World Premiere and CD Release Concert: Mata Atlantica Piano Solo. You cannot imagine how amazing this concert will be. We will also be projecting beautiful images of the Brazilian Atlantic Forest. A light buffet of Brazilian tastings follows the concert. $20.

Sat, July 23, from 2 to 6 p.m., July's 4th Saturday Afternoon Party, hosted by Al Heyward, who says, "Due to certain restrictions, we cannot tell you the names of the films we will be showing, but I can promise you that the program will be very VERY exciting, about WONDERFUL performers and GREAT music! You will be absolutely thrilled when you see these films!"
Al also hosts the free Raffle Drawing, followed by light Refreshments, and a Jam for Singers and Tap Dancers, hosted by our Music Director, Frank Owens. Only $5. Paid up Members are FREE

Time to get your summertime tap fix! Saturdays at Jimmy's No. 43:
July 23 5:30-6:30 pm Open
6:30-7:30 pm Intermediate
August 6 5:30-6:30 pm Open
6:30-7:30 pm Intermediate

1 session = $20, 2 sessions = $30.
Includes 1 drink per session.
RSVP and pay online through our Meetup page.
Open level is suitable for everyone! Tap shoes are not required nor is any previous training.
Intermediate level is for participants who have tap shoes and want a bit of a challenge.

Jimmy's No. 43 is located at 43 E 7th Street in the east village between 2nd & 3rd Avenues. Take the 6 train to Bleecker or the N/R train to 8th Street NYU. The bar entrance is downstairs and we'll be tapping in the back room.
