Thanks to widespread community support, the free Inside/Out series is re-opening in a beautifully renovated space. Please join us for a public ribbon-cutting event saluting all who supported the renovation and enabled the Pillow to continue offering free dance performances for everyone. We are delighted and grateful to announce the newly rebuilt Henry J. Leir Stage, the Sylvia T. Pope Musicians' Stage, The Jennie Ann Kassanoff Garden, and the dozens of benches and tables named in honor of loved ones in The Marcia & Seymour Simon Performance Space. Over a thousand people gave gifts to Save the Stage, and we appreciate you one and all.
THE VANAVER CARAVAN one of the first companies to dance on the stage at its inception in 1981, will perform following the re-opening ceremony.

Come join our growing Los Angeles SILVESTRE TECHNIQUE family, THURSDAYS JUNE 16-JULY 28 from 8pm-9:30pm at the Electric Lodge ( 1416 electric Ave, Venice CA 90291) led by Samantha Goodman with AMAZING live JAZZ accompaniment By Evan Greer and Kahlil Cummings plus special guests. All levels welcome and encouraged!!
(The Silvestre Technique, native to Salvador, Bahia, is a continuously evolving contemporary dance technique with the objective of conditioning the dancer through physical and expressive training regardless of level or prior training. In 1982, Rosangela Silvestre began the early stages of developing her technique, which over time has developed into a series of exercises working to train the mind, body, and awaken the spirit. Exercises are based upon fundamental Afro-Brazilian cultural symbols and gestures, the four elements of nature (Earth, Water, Air, fire), the chakras (points of energy in our bodies) and the 3 triangles (intuition, expression and balance). Classes are accompanied by live Jazz to further stimulate expression and inspiration. All levels are welcomed and encouraged!!!)
