NOW YOU CAN TAP DANCE IN BRAZILIAN CARNAVAL 2009...

In 2008, Christiane Matallo made history when she
spearheaded the
effort to include a group of tap dancers from all over
Brazil (and me
the "Americana") in the samba school Mocidade Alegre... for
the first
time ever, a group of tap dancers were included not only as
a featured
choreographed segment, but also as part of the percussion
for the
Brazilian Carnaval Celebration in Sao Paulo, Brazil. We
were flooded
with news coverage and interest stories and it was by far
one of the
most exciting venues in which we performed in front of some
of the
largest audiences in the world!

Back by popular demand, we are trying to make it bigger
than ever by
expanding to make this an international representation of
tap dancers
worldwide...Want to Tap Dance in one of the most popular
parties on
earth in February of 2009? Then send us your contact
information with
interest to be included for the group that will be tap
dancing in Sao
Paulo for Carnival in Sao Paulo, Brazil!

THE OPEN SESSION
What people are saying abut Broadway Underground...

"Fabulously entertaining. Some of the most electrifying tap
dancing I've ever seen by young energetic performers. Other
dance performances highly unique. Very funny hosts. Great
blackened catfish."

"This was a joyous event. Once it started, it moved
wondrously. You could tell by the smiles on the faces with
eyes glued to the stage that everyone was loving the show,
full of dancers and musicians."

"You got to be there to feel it!! This time I did girls
nite out, ages 3 - 70, and everyone couldn't stop talking
about it. Will be there to support Broadway Underground
again, and again."

All students who participated in the ATDF classes last year
have been given class assignments for this season.

In some cases, students may now have several options for
class day and time, which is indicated on the enrollment
worksheet. If you have questions about your assigned class,
please contact Susan Hebach, Youth Program Director, via

fall. If you are interested in a "shoe swap", please do
plan to bring your old shoes and we will try to swap them
with a pair to fit for this season. Our collection of

our program throughout the year, so thank you for your
support!
