    Winner of a prestigious 2007 Isadora Duncan Dance
Award, India Jazz Suites brings together Pandit Chitesh Das, a master of
the Indian dance form kathak, and Emmy-winner Jason Samuels Smith
(Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk) for a groundbreaking
collaboration exploring the movement and rhythms of their respective dance
forms. The performance will be accompanied by North Indian
classical and jazz music ensembles.

    A pre-show talk on Kathak and the expanding boundaries
of traditional Indian dance will be presented at 7:15 pm by Dr.
Pallabi Chakravorty, a practitioner of kathak and professor of anthropology
and dance at Swarthmore College.
